The Spokane Symphony Chorale
Established in 1955, the Chorale has been an official entity of the Spokane Symphony since 1978. As such, the Spokane Symphony Chorale has appeared in numerous Classics, Super Pops and Holiday Pops concert series held in the INB Performing Arts Center, the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, and the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Recent works performed include the Requiem of both Verdi and Brahms, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, both Poulenc’s and Vivaldi’s Gloria, the opera Rigoletto by Verdi, The Movie Music of John Williams, and the Lord of the Rings Symphony.
The Chorale, led by Dr. Lori Wiest since 1998, recently reorganized into a group of under 100 singers to fit the new Fox Theater venue. The dedicated volunteer base comes from the greater Spokane area including Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint, Deer Park, and Pullman and participates in the more than 100 hours of rehearsal and performance time required for each concert season. The Chorale is open to all qualified singers by audition. For information about Chorale membership, please call Harold Young, Chorale secretary at 465-9323 or visit the website at www.spokanesymphonychorale.com
